An impressive career can conceal some of the darkest stories beneath. Lolo Jones, who took home the USA and the World Champion in the event of a hurdle in 2013, has only achieved this feat with a lot of work and perseverance. Jones was the sole member of a family with five children, and grew up living in poverty. Her mother was always moving around as well as having been living in the basement of a church for a short period of time. Jones' nomadic lifestyle led her to switch schools every year until the age of high school. Jones was kept apart from her family during Theodore Roosevelt to pursue athletics in track and field. She lived with different families throughout high school, so that she was able to concentrate on her academics. Jones received her Gatorade track and field athlete of the Award in high school. As a student cellist, Jones was also part of her school's school orchestra. Jones was one of the college's best hurdlers after entering. At the 2002 NCAA Track & Field Championships, Jones won the 100-meter hurdles. Jones also was a part of the team that finished second in the 100-meter Relay race. Jones was the NCAA Champion indoor hurdler in both 2013 and 2003. Jones was a professional athlete with the year 2005, after she finished her education. She started training for a successful track career. She was the winner of two events, the Torino Memorial and the Heusden Track races that same year.

Brandt moved to Auckland, New Zealand, from Cape Town South Africa in the latter part of her in her adolescence. Brandt, discovered by local casting agents she was offered the leading part of Naevia in the Starz blockbusters Spartacus Blood and Sand and Spartacus Gods of the Arena. Her character was popular for both the audience and the production team members Steven S. D Knight, Sam Raimi and Sam Raimi. She was a part of the cult Netflix series Lucifer that had a six year run playing the fan beloved comic book character from DC/Vertigo Mazikeen. Lucifer has broken record for binge watching and was named the most binged show in 2021 by Forbes. Brandt will next appear in the role of Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira in the six-episode limited Walking Dead spin-off which airs in 2024. She will also be starring alongside Jason Ritter Anthony Carrigan and Chris Meloni in the adult animated show Captain Fall which airs July 2023 on Netflix. Lesley Ann Brandt, born 2nd December 1981 was born in Cape Town South Africa. She is a talented New Zealander actress. Lesley Brandt, along with the rest of her family, relocated into Auckland New Zealand back in 1999. In Auckland she started her career in retail and later be promoted to the position of IT manager consultant. Following a couple of modeling projects, Lesley appeared in many commercials. The year 2008 was the time she concluded her studies in acting. Then, in 2009 she continued her studies by using the Meisner approach to study. Lesley Brandt was the first to get a important acting role on the screen in New Zealand in TV Drama Diplomatic Immunity. Lesley Brandt has shown up in The New Zealand TV drama series Shortland Street with a support role. Then she appeared on the Sci-fi film This Is Not My Life, based on anecdotal Waimoana. Lesley Brandt appeared as Naevia as a hostage who was a teenager in the Television Series Spartacus: Blood and Sand. The character was shown in Spartacus: Gods of the Arena.
